4th Project Meeting in Warsaw - Bios of speakers



Adam Bodnar is a graduate of the Warsaw University and the Central European University in Budapest, Department of Legal Studies (LL.M. in Comparative Constitutional Law, 2001). Since 2006 he is a doctor of laws (Warsaw University). He works as an Assistant Professor at the Human Rights Chair of the Warsaw University Faculty of Law and Administration and a visiting professor at the Central European University in Budapest. In October 2004 Adam Bodnar joined the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in Warsaw and started the Strategic Litigation Program.  In 2012, Adam was promoted to Vicepresident of the Management Board of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. Adam Bodnar is an author of several scholar publications and commentaries published in the Polish press. He specializes in protection of fundamental rights, jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights and European Court of Justice, EU citizenship, and role of NGOs in pursuing public interest and freedom of speech.

Dorota Pudzianowska is a lawyer, sociologist, Assistant Professor at Faculty of Law and Administration, Warsaw University.  She specializes in human rights issues relating to anti-discrimination, citizenship and immigrant integration policy.  Since 2006, Dorota has been working as a lawyer for Helsińki Foundation for Human Rights. In years 2008-2012 she was the alternate member of the Board of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights. In 2011, she obtained a doctoral degree in law.

Dawid Sześciło - doctor of law, assistant professor in Public Administration Chair at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw, lawyer at ClientEarth,legal expert for the Ministries as learning organisations programme funded by the EU, aimed at creating evidence-based public policy mechanisms in Polish government. Prior to joining ClientEarth Dawid spent four years collaborating with Polish NGOs, including the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights (as a lawyer in Strategic Litigation Programme and coordinator of Property Rights' Clinic), the Forum on Civic Development (as an expert on public law and judiciary) and the Batory Foundation (as an expert on electoral law and local self-government). He has also worked as a commercial lawyer in the Warsaw office of international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.


Dominika Bychawska-Siniarska is a lawyer, graduate of the College of Europe, she has worked in the European Court of Human Rights and in the Office of the European Integration of the Polish Government. Since 2009 she has been coordinator of the Observatory of Freedom of Media in Poland. Currently she coordinates the project “Europe of Human Rights” and was elected in 2010 as a member of the Civil Society Advisory Panel of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency.


Maria Ejchart is a lawyer, graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw. Since 2000 she has worked at the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in Warsaw where she coordinates the “Innocence” Law Clinic. She has been involved in a numerous national and international educational programs and reports concerning the rights of inmates. She monitors  polish isolation units regularly.

Irmina Pacho is a lawyer, graduate of the Faculty of the Law and Administration, Cardinal Wyszynski University in Warsaw and the British Law Centre, a joint initiative of the University of Warsaw and Cambridge University. She is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Legal Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Irmina Pacho is a coordinator of the Strategic Litigation Programme and the "Observatory of the CIA Activity on Polish Territory" Project.

Barbara Grabowska is a lawyer, graduate of the Central European University in Budapest (Program of Comparative Constitutional Studies) and the Faculty of Law and Administration, Warsaw University, former coordinator of the Strategic Litigation Programme. She is a PhD candidate of the Faculty of Law and Administration  at the Warsaw University. Currently, she coordinates  "Monitoring of the Legislative Process" Project.
